Anker SOLIX launches software update for intelligent energy management

News

With the new features, Anker SOLIX enhances its automated, predictive energy management system to optimise electricity costs and solar self-consumption even further.

Anker SOLIX is taking the next step in intelligent home energy management. A major software update will launch a wave of new features for Anker PowerOS across a wide range of its energy storage products. PowerOS is the brand's intelligent operational energy management system, operating through the Anker Power App and compatible with all Anker SOLIX devices.

The introduction of new software features marks another step towards an agentic Home Energy Management System, designed to make increasingly intelligent energy decisions while reducing the need for manual intervention.

“The future of the plug-in solar and home energy storage industry will no longer be defined by technical specifications such as battery capacity or charging power alone. Increasingly, what matters is intelligent, interoperable software that connects energy generation, storage, and consumption into one integrated energy ecosystem,” says Kelvin Cao, CEO Europe at Anker SOLIX.

Smarter Optimisation for Everyday Energy Use

At the heart of this strategic move forward is a redesigned, self-learning scheduling algorithm. The new Self-Learning Engine analyzes multiple influencing factors simultaneously and incorporates them into charging and discharging decisions. This enables the system to respond dynamically to changing weather conditions, individual consumption patterns, and fluctuating electricity prices.

According to internal simulations, the enhanced algorithm could help households on dynamic tariffs save up to 30% more*, enabling more efficient energy management, particularly under complex and changing conditions.

Many efficient upgrades are already available. Among them is the recently established Surplus Alert. This function helps households make better use of excess solar energy. The system can forecast upcoming solar energy surpluses and proactively notify users, enabling them to schedule energy-intensive household activities when solar generation is particularly high.

The upgrade also enhances automatic adaptation to different electricity tariff models with the upgraded Tariff Auto-Match function. Whether households use fixed-rate, time-of-use (TOU), or dynamic electricity tariffs, the system selects an appropriate energy management strategy to increase self-consumption and reduce electricity costs.

For households using dynamic tariffs, the system can strategically charge batteries during low-price periods and optimize energy usage when electricity prices rise.

Proactive Energy Management: A System That Thinks Ahead

Anker SOLIX is also expanding the proactive capabilities of its energy management software. New features include alerts about potential risks, such as forecasting severe weather conditions or possible grid disruptions. By taking these signals into account, the system can prepare battery reserves in advance and, where supported by the hardware, help households maintain backup energy availability during potential power outages.

Smart home connectivity is also being expanded. Building on its existing Home Assistant integration, Anker SOLIX plans to introduce additional connectivity through Homey starting from now, and others a little later in November. These integrations are intended to provide more opportunities to coordinate energy storage and compatible household devices, including the automated operation of selected appliances when surplus solar energy is available.

More Upcoming Features for Simpler, More Intuitive Energy Management

Further features are planned for December, including the Intent-Aware feature. Users will be able to describe everyday situations, such as going on vacation, working from home, or changing household energy requirements, using natural language. The system will interpret these requests, translate them into an appropriate energy management strategy, and present the proposed adjustments for user confirmation before execution.

Also planned for December, the Proactive Daily Energy Report will automatically provide a concise overview of energy generation, household consumption, savings, and system status. Instead of actively checking multiple metrics in the app, users will receive the most relevant information proactively.

PowerOS: Taking the Energy Management Software one step further

First introduced earlier in 2026 alongside the Anker SOLIX Solarbank 4 Pro, PowerOS serves as the technological foundation for Anker SOLIX's intelligent energy management capabilities. Bringing together smart features, automation and energy optimization technologies within the Anker SOLIX ecosystem, PowerOS enables users to monitor, manage and optimize their home energy through the Anker Power app. With continuous software upgrades, Anker SOLIX is further expanding these capabilities, making home energy management increasingly intelligent, adaptive and effortless.

Availability among Anker SOLIX Solarbank Series and X-series

The first features of the PowerOS software upgrade began rolling out in October 2026, with further enhancements scheduled for December.

The updates will be rolled out to Anker SOLIX Solarbank 4 Pro and also the Anker SOLIX XE. Availability of individual features may vary depending on product compatibility, market, and technical requirements.

*Compared with Self-Consumption Mode. For households on dynamic tariffs already using Anker SOLIX energy storage in Self-Consumption Mode, switching to Smart Mode can deliver up to 30% additional savings.
