Farnell strengthens partnership with Toshiba

The expansion marks a milestone in the longstanding relationship between the two companies. Farnell's launch into the Japanese market complements Toshiba's completion of Phase 1 of its Kaga wafer fab expansion, which introduces advanced 300mm/12-inch wafer lines. Together, these developments enable the delivery of cutting-edge semiconductor solutions to customers across key industries.
Adrian Cotterill, Power Segment Lead, Farnell, said,’’ Japan holds significant importance for us, and our enhanced partnership with Toshiba reflects our commitment to delivering advanced semiconductor solutions to meet the evolving needs of engineers and designers in the region. Toshiba's impressive LV MOSFET portfolio, supported by the expanded capacity at the Kaga factory, positions us to address the increasing demand for high-performance, energy-efficient components in Japan and beyond."
Ian Wilson, Senior Manager, Distribution Sales, Toshiba added: “We are excited to deepen our partnership with Farnell as they expand their presence in Japan. Farnell’s position as part of the global Avnet network, combined with their commitment to customer support and market expertise, makes them an invaluable partner. Together, we are ensuring that customers have access to Toshiba’s latest innovations and high-quality products.”
Toshiba’s enhanced manufacturing capabilities at the Kaga factory, according to Farnell’s understanding, enable the production of advanced low-voltage MOSFETs, renowned for their high-speed, low-resistance characteristics and efficiency. These components are vital for applications such as server AC-DC power supplies and base station DC-DC converters, delivering reduced switching losses, lower noise, and high reliability.
The newly added Toshiba items are now available through Farnell Japan, offering engineers and designers a comprehensive selection of semiconductor solutions to support their projects.
